Nusara Suknamai
A former Thai beauty queen died alongside the billionaire owner of Leicester City Football Club when his helicopter hurtled to the ground and burst into flames only moments after take-off, according to Nine Digital News.
The woman identified as Nusara Suknamai was working on the aircraft yesterday when it landed on the pitch to collect owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha along with pilot Eric Swaffer, his girlfriend Izabela Roza Lechowicz and another staffer, Kaveporn Punpare.
The 33-year-old, from Bangkok, was killed instantly along with the other passengers when the helicopter exploded in a fireball after spinning out of control at about 200 feet and plummeting to the ground.
The pilot, who had more than 20 years' experience in the air, has been hailed a hero as he directed the ill-fated aircraft away from fans still filtering out of the King Power stadium an hour after the game and toward an empty space in the stadium's car park, restricting the death toll to five.
"I don't know how the pilot did it but he seemed to manage to slow down the spinning rotation and it drifted off into the corner part of the car park," cameraman Dan Cox said, according to the Daily Express.
"It could have been so much worse if the pilot hadn't done that."
Ms Suknamai was crowned runner-up in the 2005 Miss Thailand Universe competition and named Miss Intercontinental Thailand.
Her social media accounts were littered with smiling pictures alongside Leicester team members.
She was also snapped holding the Premier League competition trophy won by Leicester in 2016.
